Transport yourself to sunny beaches, splashing waves, cool drinks, and all things tropical.
A heady blend of traditional Caribbean music, pop, jazz, and reggae. All performed on the signature Caribbean instrument. The Steel Drum!
In Trinidad, steel drums are referred to as pans. Anyone who plays a steel drum is called a pan player or ‘pan man’. Daniel got his monicker in 1985 and has since been referred to as
PAN MAN DAN!
Playing professionally since the age of 15, Daniel Hogan (aka Pan Man Dan) has been a classically trained percussionist and drummer who has performed everywhere from symphonies, to jazz, blues, folk and rock. He is a well known ‘first call’ musician for his ability to fill in on many gigs at any given moment. He may also be seen at many TRAD sessions playing bodhran and bones at JK O’Donnell’s Irish Pub in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In 1985, Daniel attended The University of Akron on a music scholarship where he studied with Dr. Larry Snider and was a member of The University of Akron Steel Band. He had the fortune to perform with legendary steel drummers such as Andy Narell, Leonard Moses, and Cliff Alexis, as well as Spyro Gyra percussionist Dave Samuels.
Daniel has also studied with Kenny Aronoff, George Mason, Bob McKee, Nick Stamanis, Scott Stannard and the legendary Neal Graham.
Now Pan Man Dan brings this fantastic music to you for your entertainment! A great show for any of your special events!
